Lebara offers both 4G and 5G, so you can get the highest possible speeds, and it uses Vodafone’s network for both, meaning that coverage is good and improving all the time.
Lebara also offers short-term 30-day plans, so you’re not locked into a lengthy contract, though you can also choose a 12-month plan for a lower monthly price, and by opting for SIM-only you’re also not paying for a phone on top of your allowances, keeping prices low whatever plan length you choose.
And there are no credit checks, making Lebara a great choice if you're trying to improve your credit rating.
Lebara’s plans include international minutes, so you can call abroad to dozens of destinations at no extra cost – ideal if you have friends or family in other countries.
You can call 42 countries in all, including popular places like Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, China and the US, and on many SIM-only plans you’ll get unlimited minutes to do this with.
Lebara allows you to use your allowances in the EU at no extra cost. You can also roam for free in India, which isn’t something many networks allow.
Lebara makes no reference to tethering on its site, but always used to offer this service, so presumably still does. If in doubt, check directly with the network before ordering.
Once you’ve activated your Lebara SIM card, just text ‘PAC’ to 65075 from your old number (the one you want to keep). You’ll then be sent a PAC code which you simply enter on Lebara’s number transfer form, along with your new temporary number, and the network will do the rest.
Lebara will send you a SIM card suitable for any smartphone – just pop out the correct size for your handset when it arrives.
