Increases annually on 1 April by £1.80A SIM Only deal is a contract with a mobile network where you’re provided with a SIM card and allowances, but no phone – so you’ll have to put the SIM card in a phone you already have, or buy one separately.
Where the cashback bit comes in is that all of the deals on this page also give you money when you place your order. In some cases this money is paid to you automatically, and in others you have to manually redeem the cashback after your order has been placed, but the deals above have a label saying which of those applies.
Note also that sometimes the cashback is paid all in one go, and in other cases you’ll get multiple smaller payments at set points throughout your SIM Only contract. The full, detailed terms for the cashback can be found on the page you’re sent to when you select one of the deals above.
A SIM Only deal with cashback is a great way to save some money on a SIM Only deal, as while you’ll still be paying the same monthly contract price as you would with a normal SIM Only deal, you’ll essentially get some of the money back with a cash payment, reducing the overall cost.
In many cases the cashback can dramatically reduce the price, with the amount you get often being far more than you’d pay in a single month for the SIM Only plan, so in the short term you can actually end up with more money than you started with by getting one of these.
How you redeem the cashback will vary depending on the deal, but the full details can be found when you click through to one of the deals above.
In general though, it will either be automatically paid into your bank account after a set period of time, or you’ll have to manually redeem it by sending your mobile phone bills to the retailer.
The selection of networks offering SIM Only deals with cashback will change over time, but you can see the current options above, which at the time of writing include Vodafone and iD Mobile.
It’s worth noting though that typically networks don’t pay cashback when you buy from them direct. So instead many of the deals you see here will be from third-party (but reputable) sellers such as e2save.
Yes, most SIM Only plans include 5G, but you can see whether the deals above do or not by looking out for the 5G label, or tick the box to ‘only show 5G deals.’
Yes, unlimited data deals are often available with cashback. To find those specifically, you can use the data allowance filter above and select ‘unlimited data.’
When looking for SIM Only deals with cashback your choice of networks is often quite limited, as not all networks offer cashback, and some only will some of the time.
You’ll see the current options above, and when choosing between those you should consider the monthly cost and the cashback amount, as well as the network’s coverage and extras. For more details on those last two things, check out our detailed network and coverage guides.
Yes, you can keep your number when signing up for a SIM Only deal with cashback. Simply request a PAC (porting authorisation code) from your old network by texting ‘PAC’ to 65075 from the number you want to keep, and then give that code to your new network once you’ve joined.
For more in-depth instructions, check out our how to get a PAC code from your network guide.
UK networks will in almost all cases send out a trio SIM, which contains all three possible SIM card sizes (namely a standard SIM, a micro-SIM, and a nano SIM). So just compare these sizes to your existing SIM card or the slot in your phone, and pop out the correct one.
The only thing not accounted for here is eSIMs (which are built into phones and aren’t removable), but not many networks support those, and you typically have to specifically request one if that’s what you want.
