Sky Mobile runs on O2’s network, meaning you’ll get 5G and 4G coverage in all the same places. So you don’t need to worry about bad coverage, as O2 has around 99% population coverage with 4G, while its 5G service is available in thousands of towns and cities.
Sky Mobile also offers 5G at no extra cost, and it offers data rollover, so you get a second chance to use your data. You can also change your allowances whenever you like, so while there’s a contract you don’t have to commit to a specific data limit.
Sky Mobile also promises no mid-contract price rises, so that’s one less thing to worry about.
The main added extra on Sky Mobile is data rollover. This lets you store any data you don’t use each month in your ‘Sky Piggybank’, and then access it in a future month if you ever need more than your allowance.
Stored data lasts 12 months, so you have lots of time to use it, and you can alternatively share it with family members, or trade it in for money off devices and accessories, or a range of rewards.
Plus, Sky Mobile’s phone plans let you swap to a new phone at almost any point during the contract (though this will cost money if you’re still within the minimum term), and you can change your data allowance whenever you like.
Sky Mobile’s phone contracts also let you use Sky apps (such as Sky Sports and Sky News) without eating into your data allowance – though you will need to subscribe to these Sky services separately.
And Sky Mobile also offers Wi-Fi Calling and 4G Calling, so there are plenty of perks here.
Sky Mobile charges £2 per day to use your data, text, and call allowances in over 55 destinations, covering the EU, the US, Australia, and more.
Sky Mobile offers tethering at no extra cost, so you can use your phone’s data allowance to get laptops, tablets, and other gadgets online, when for example you’re away from home or your Wi-Fi is down.
To keep your number when switching to Sky Mobile, you should first order your Sky Mobile phone contract. Then, once your new phone and SIM card arrive, activate the SIM card.
Next, request a PAC (porting authorisation code) from your old network by texting the word ‘PAC’ to 65075 from the number you want to keep.
Finally, give Sky Mobile your PAC code, and they’ll handle the rest.
