Second sub £100 4G phone added to EE's portfolio
EE has announced its second sub £100 4G phone with the arrival of the Alcatel OneTouch Pop S3. This is obviously aimed at the mass market and in particular younger people for reasons listed below.
The OneTouch Pop S3 lands firmly in direct competition with the company’s own branded EE Kestrel- also priced at £99. However, the OneTouch Pop S3 should be of greater interest to younger users as you can “bling” it up via 3 interchangeable back covers (White, Yellow and Slate). The back covers make it easy to match the POP S3 to your mood or style in seconds.
Looking at the OneTouch Pop S3 it comes with a decent specification for such a low priced 4G enabled smartphone. To start with it comes with a 4-inch display (800*480 pixels) with a form factor of 123 x 64.4 x 9.85mm and a weight of just 130g.

The power comes from its 1.2GHz quad-core processor, it has 1GB of RAM and 4GB of on-board memory (with microSD support).
Rearside, is a 5 mega-pixel camera with an LED flash that is capable of recording 1080p video, and there’s a 0.3 mega-pixel front-facing snapper. The Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) powered smartphone is fully connected supporting 4G LTE (Cat 4), WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 and it even has an FM radio. One Finger Zoom makes for easy navigation while browsing and such.
The top and tail of the OneTouch Pop S3 is that it’s a decent smartphone which comes with Superfast 4G for just £99.99 on Pay As You Go (plus a £10 top-up).

Looking for a smartphone with a bigger display? Then why not consider the EE Kestrel which has a 4.5-inch touch-screen, a very similar specification and the same £99.99 price.
