Huawei Ascend G6.
Huawei still isn’t a huge name over here, but that hasn’t stopped the Chinese company from releasing some compelling handsets.
One of the most recent such phones is the Huawei Ascend G6, a mid range handset with 4G built in and a surprisingly decent camera, but we’ll get to that.
Starting with the screen, you get a 4.5 inch 540 x 960 IPS LCD display with a pixel density of 245 pixels per inch, leading to fairly crisp, bright images.
It’s no slouch in the power stakes either, as it has a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM, so it runs fairly smoothly even when gaming or streaming videos.
Speaking of streaming, the addition of 4G makes it great for media on the move, with videos and songs streaming seamlessly and downloading quickly anywhere with a 4G connection.
The Ascend G6 has a fairly attractive design too, with a curved bottom edge giving it a slightly distinct look and at just 7.85mm thick it’s quite slim for a mid range phone too.
It comes with Android 4.3 and, moving back to the camera, it has an 8 megapixel main snapper, which is at the upper end of what mid range phones tend to offer. On top of that though it also has a 5 megapixel front facing camera, making it ideal for selfies.
It only has 4GB of storage, but with microSD card support that needn’t be a problem. The Huawei Ascend G6 is expected to arrive sometime in the next few weeks and while the price still hasn’t been confirmed we’d imagine it will come in at under £200.
