EE Launching Plug And Play Fibre Broadband with the Bright Box 2

EE have announced that they plan to launch the Bright Box 2 later this summer. The Bright Box 2 is the successor to their Bright Box wireless router, featuring greater wireless range than the original Bright Box as well as less drop off in speed when users move further away from the device.

The Bright Box 2 achieves these improvements by featuring advanced wireless ‘AC Wi-Fi’ technology, a technology which is also found in many of the latest smartphones and tablets, such as the Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One. It also uses two different network bands simultaneously, meaning that your devices can choose the strongest network band to join at any given time, ensuring that you get less interference and the best possible connection.

The Bright Box 2 is designed to complement EE’s own superfast Fibre broadband network and when it launches it will lead EE to become the first UK broadband provider to offer plug and play Fibre broadband, as the Bright Box 2 is just that- it can easily be set up and doesn’t require an engineer to come to your house. All you have to do is plug it in to your phone socket, meaning that you can quickly and easily get online, rather than having to wait around for potentially days for an engineer to come and install it.

To make things even more convenient the Bright Box 2 is small enough to fit through a letter box so you don’t even need to be in for delivery.

The Bright Box 2 promises speeds of up to 76Mbps and will be available free of charge for new and upgrading Fibre broadband customers when it launches later this summer. However it will also be available to buy as a standalone device for £175.
