O2 revamps SIM only 4G contracts
O2 has offered 4G on SIM-only contracts for a while, but the network has now added new tariffs and tweaked existing ones to add increased value and choice.
The highlight of the changes is the ability to now get 500MB of 4G data, unlimited texts and 500 minutes for just £11 per month if you opt for a 12 month SIM-only contract, which is £3 cheaper than it used to be.
But that’s not the only change. There are two brand new 12 month tariffs as well. Both of them include unlimited minutes and texts, while one also comes with 3GB of 4G data for £20 per month and the other has 6GB of 4G data for £25 per month. If that’s not enough then O2 still offers an 8GB option too, but that hasn’t come down in price any, so it will set you back £30 per month.
If you don’t want to be tied into a 12 month contract then you could always opt for a 30 day tariff. These obviously aren’t quite as good value, but O2 has tweaked them as well to make them better value than they once were. The cheapest 30 day 4G tariff gives you 500MB of data, unlimited texts and 500 minutes for £15 per month, which makes it £3 cheaper than it used to be.
At the upper end you can get 5GB of 4G data, unlimited minutes and unlimited texts for £27 per month, which again is £3 cheaper than it once was. Other tariffs have dropped in price too, with 1GB of 4G data alongside unlimited minutes and texts costing £21 per month, down from £25 and 2GB of 4G data, unlimited minutes and unlimited texts priced at £22 whereas it used to be £26.
Remember though that to take advantage of all this data you’ll need to be somewhere with 4G coverage, so you’re best off checking O2’s coverage map before signing up.
